Taxidermy Training
Learn bird taxidermy in a fun and relaxing
environment! Students are taught the art of bird taxidermy from the
ground up. Learn from the only studio in the USA teaching the 'Wire
Frame Method'. The Wire Frame Method of taxidermy will give you complete
control over the bird during the mounting process. This is most
effective for individuals willing to put in the time and effort into
their work. Imagine never struggling again to tuck a wing in a side
pocket!
Learn to mount flying birds with manikins!
Students will learn to customize commercial forms or cast their own
using advanced casting methods. Classes are tailored to fit the beginner
who has never mounted a bird all the way to experienced individuals
wanting to take their taxidermy skills to the next level!
Course Outline:
* Specimen evaluation
* Skinning
* Fleshing (wire wheel)
* Washing
* Building wire frame/altering manikins wrapping necks
* Casting waterfowl heads
* Claying in upland bird heads
* Setting eyes wiring wings injecting feet finish work composition
* Habitat (available only on the 5 day class)

Sessions run from 9:00 am to 6:30pm with lunch included:
